Description

Up for sale is a brand new 1:72 scale United States Air Force (USAF) Northrop YF-23 Black Widow II 87-0801  “Gray Ghost” (HA2850) by Hobby Master.

Pitted against the Lockheed Martin YF-22 Raptor for the USAF ATF competition in  1990, the second YF-23 (serial number 87-0801, PAV-2) with General Electric YF-120 powerplants made its first flight on 26 October, piloted by Jim Sandberg. Sadly for Northrop the aircraft was unsuccessful and the contract went to the F-22. This model air-plane is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Corgi, Gemini Jets, JC Wings, Witty Wings, Century Wings, NG Models and Aviation72.
