Up for sale is a brand new 1/400 Air Koryo Tupolev Tu-154B P-552 (11798) by Phoenix.
Air Koryo, founded in 1955 is the state airline of North Korea, and as a communist state has ties to the old USSR and sourced much of it’s technology from there, including aircraft. The Tu-154B was one such aircraft. Jet operations commenced in 1975 when the first Tupolev Tu-154 was delivered for service from Pyongyang to Prague, East Berlin and Moscow. As the Tu-154B had insufficient range, the aircraft had to land for refueling at Irkutsk and Novosibirsk. Air Koryo was the last operator of the type using two up until about 2020.
This model aircraft is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Aeroclassics, NG Model, JC Wings, Geminijets and Aviation400.
