Up for sale is a brand new 1/200 SOUTH AFRICAN AIRWAYS BOEING 737-200Adv ZS-SIC “VAAL” (IF732SAA03) by Inflight200

On 29th October 1968 SAA simultaneously took delivery of two brand new Boeing 737-200, marking the start of a relation with the Boeing 737 that has spanned the over 45 years. The airline placed an intial order of six aircraft of the standard 737-200 series aircraft, and once delivered the aircraft served along the 727-100 and HS748 on regional & domestic routes throughout the 1970’s,  and proved to be popular with passengers and pilots. So pleased with 737’s that when Boeing made the Advanced version available SAA snapped up 13 of them, with the first of 737-200 Adv arriving in August 1980. The 737-200Adv formed the backbone of SAA’s regional and domestic fleet for the next 20 years. In May 2000 the entire fleet was sold South African aircraft leasing specialist Safair, and leased back to SAA, these aircraft were joined a 6 former British Airways aircraft in 2001, leased from Safair. Some were kept as freighters until as late as 2012.

This model aircraft is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Gemini Jets, Phoenix Models, JC Wings, NG Models and Aviation200.
