Description

Up for sale is a brand new 1/72 US Navy Grumman F-14D TOMCAT 164342,VF-31 “Tomcatters”, USS Theodore Roosevelt, US Navy, 2006 by Hobbymaster.

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a twin-engine, with a unique variable sweep wing capable of supersonic flight. The aircraft is crewed by a Pilot and a Radar Intercept Officer who share the tasks of navigation, target acquisition, ECM and weapons usage. The Tomcat was operated by the US Navy and the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force.

This particular aircraft as seen here was operated by VF-31. In 1992 VF-31 transitioned to the F-14D Tomcat after operating the A model for some years and was the last to retire the Tomcat from  service in 2006. This model was one of those last aircraft.

This model air-plane is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Aviation72, Oxford, Corgi, Century Wings, Witty Wings and JC Wings.
