Description

Up for sale is a brand new 1/72 LUFTWAFFE – GERMAN AIR FORCE JUNKERS JU-87G-1 STUKA T6+AD (HA0132) by Hobbymaster.

Because of the slow development of new attack aircraft Germany decided to improve what they already had, the Ju-87. The new and improved version was much more streamlined with an increase of power, so in 1942 this resulted in the Dora (D version) with a 1,400 hp Jumo 211 J or P engine. The new “Dora” was the main Stuka variant with over 5,000 built. The dominant one with more than 1500 produced was the D-3. This G-1 version

Regarded highly by famed German ace Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the Ju 87 G was one of the deadliest ground attack aircraft in WW2. Building upon the classic “Stuka” design, German engineers fitted a pair of Bordkanone 37 mm cannons to early Ju 87 D models, creating a beast. Instead of bombs, this aircraft utilizes its twin synchronized 37 mm anti-tank cannons to demolish any armour it faces. Able to fire the German 37 mm high-velocity armour piercing round, the Ju 87 G is more than a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, each cannon only holds 12 rounds of ammunition each, for a total of 12 individual shots. This puts a cap on how much total damage the Ju 87 G can do. Even so they are able to destroy most ground units and aircraft with a single press of the trigger. Equip air targets or armoured targets belt depending on what your target is. The armoured targets belt is fairly ineffective against aircraft and the air targets belt does next to nothing to armoured ground units.

Hans Ulrich Rudel began his career as an air observer during the German invasion of Poland and became an Adjutant for the 43rd Aviators Training Regiment in 1940. He began training on a Stuka that he would soon become a master of. Since tank busting became his forte he developed the idea of placing two 37mm Flak canons under the wings. This design would enable the Stuka to destroy the Soviet tanks by attacking their weakest points, the rear where they were lightly armored. During his career Rudel destroyed almost 500 tanks.

This model aircraft is made from die-cast metal and include extensive detailing. It is similar in quality to Corgi, Gemini Jets, JC Wings, Witty Wings, Century Wings, NG Models and Aviation72.
